How We Met
I met Jemma on the 4th of July party several years ago in California. I had never seen a girl to this point where big hoop earrings so I kept calling her “Jemma with the Hoops!” As my way of flirting cause she was the most beautiful girl, I had ever met. We stayed friends for a while and I finally mustered up the courage to ask her to a wedding for our first date. We went to that wedding and I knew right away this is who I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. The rest is history and we have been together ever since.
How They Asked
Jemma is born and raised in Pittsburgh since she was 17, it has a very special place in her heart and where a lot of her family is from. I have never been to the east coast before and we had a 7-day trip planned. I wanted to meet everyone on the trip before popping the big questions so I waited till 2 days left of the trip to do it. On the day of I didn’t want anything to feel rushed so we went downtown and grabbed our favorite cocktails and after I asked her to go for a walk with me. I had two professional photographers already at the spot waiting for us.
As we walked under the bridge to the spot I could feel Jemma getting nervous as she clutched my hand, and she knew I was up to something. I got the spot where the photographer and I had picked through many screenshots of google maps and stick figures drawn, and I turned Jemma around held both her hands and looked her in the eyes.
I gave her my speech and told her I wanted to be her last boyfriend ever and then got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Her reaction says it all as she had no idea this was coming! I’ll never get over how her lips felt when kissing after I asked and throughout the engagement shoot following.
