How We Met
We both worked together at a TV station in Roanoke, Virginia. He was my photographer and I was the reporter. It took several months before we started officially dating since I had a boyfriend at the time but he was patient and said I was worth the wait. After I was single again, Grant asked if he could make dinner for me. I said why not! He made an amazing meal and we watched Across the Universe after.
how they asked
Grant got an amazing job in Tampa as a photographer for the ABC station in September so we continued our relationship long distance. We would try to see each other every month. In April we planned a wine tasting weekend for his parents. It was supposed to be a late Christmas gift. Turns out the weekend before I overheard his dad talking about something big happening that weekend. I got suspicious and told Grant. He tried to play it off and figured I knew he was going to propose. The day before our trip to Charlottesville, he wanted us to go out on his dad’s new boat on Smith Mountain Lake. One of our best dates was at the lake. Around sunset he took me to one secluded part of the lake next to the cliffs and watched the sunset. We talked about all our great memories and dates and then on one knee he proposed. We went back to his parent’s house and celebrated with his parents and our dog Theodore.
