How We Met
The love story began in November 2015 at a mutual friend’s 30th birthday party. (We’re looking at you, Tom Laforgia). I know what you’re thinking, “pork buns are just a delicious, savory, and saucy, meat sandwich”. You’re correct! Added bonus: they are the reason we knew we were going to best friends, and ultimately meant for each other. That’s where it started, folks. Amy shoving a pork bun in Ben’s mouth, like all classic love stories. After parting ways that evening, Ben invited Amy for brunch the following morning. She declined. (Harsh!) Since the party, Ben decided to play it cool, and not come on too strong. By that, he texted her roughly 400 times a day. In Ben’s defense, the incessant text messaging was happily reciprocated.
During a family vacation soon after, Ben’s family overwhelmingly noticed his non-stop texting and laughing over conversations with Amy. Over the next three months, they talked about everything under the sun, including such serious topics as the best pizza, movies, shows to binge, lame jokes/puns, and dream vacations. After having their first date postponed due to snowstorms (Amy getting stuck in Wilkes-Barre in multiple blizzards), they finally had it. If you know Amy and Ben, it was funny, it was awkward, and it was exactly how they wanted it. Over the course of the next two years, they spent nearly every waking moment together, and now with their furry roommate, Eloise. They continue to share millions of laughs and adventures and are so excited to spend the rest of their lives together with friends and their families, who welcome both of them with open arms.
how they asked
Ben and Amy went on a vacation to Punta Cana where she was pleasantly surprised to find out that Ben had brought an engagement ring and proposed on the beach their second day on vacation! It was unexpected by Amy and videoed by a gracious, yet random bystander. A perfect moment for both. They are so happy to be engaged and excited to share their special day with family and friends!
