Ammi and Thomas
how they asked
Thomas planned the most perfect weekend in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country. Fredericksburg was the place we took our first trip as a couple and it has been a go to get a away ever since. This trip was supposed to be a celebratory get away with some of our closest friends and family, in honor of graduating from Texas A&M University.
Little did I know this trip would entail so much more. Being in wine country, we started our weekend with some wine tastings and enjoying each others company. As the day grew older, Thomas took me by the hand and swept me away to the gorgeous Pedernales Cellars for a quick glass of wine on the patio to just get away from our group for minute to breathe and enjoy each other.
We snuck away and as we walked in, Thomas mentioned he had left his phone in his truck. I took the open opportunity to look around the cellars and take in the peace and quiet. As Thomas returned, the staff assisted him by giving him a gift bag with an A&M logo on the front.
Completely oblivious to what was going on, a sweet lady ushered us out the door onto a patio where we sat to have a glass of wine. As I reached into the bag to grab the bottle of wine, I quickly noticed this bottle wasn’t like the others I had seen inside, this bottle had a different label. “Ammi Jo I will love you always, Thomas. Feeling confused I looked to Thomas and he returned with a smug grin and reached into the bag and pulled out a wine glass with the phrase, “Will you marry me?” Completely smitten, Thomas took me by my hand and walked over to the an adorable little set up and got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him, which of course I agreed to. We spent the rest of that evening swooning in the moment with each other as well as our closest friends and family.
