How We Met
Last January we met in Las Vegas at his college volleyball tournament. and then somehow found out we were in a class together at The University of Utah! I started saving him a seat, and we would talk during the entire class (sorry prof Carlisle) about seriously everything. There wasn’t much excitement for a couple of months, until one day I unexpectedly got a call at work from the cute dark curly-haired tall boy who had become my favorite thing about going to school. He asked me if I wanted to go to the symphony in downtown SLC THAT NIGHT. I pulled some strings and was able to go, and we ended up talking in the car afterward until the wee hours of the night. We would talk on the phone every day and it felt like we had known each other forever.
He kept innocently asking me on the cutest little “dates”; going stargazing, going to get food, and taking me up above Salt Lake to see the city lights. (my absolute favorite thing). On the night of our first kiss, I saved a note on my phone swearing this was the real deal. We saw each other every single day until he left for 6 weeks in the summer to study abroad, and the night before his flight he sang me a song he had written for me titled “amelia’s song”. I knew I was in big trouble. We Facetimed every single day while he was gone, and those were the longest seven weeks of. my. life. I cried when we were reunited and we spent every free moment together after that. (and lucky for me, a year late, we still do).💗
How They Asked
Chase took me out for what I thought was just a celebratory end of semester dinner, and to celebrate his graduation. We got all dressed up and went to a fancy dinner, and then he wanted to go on a “drive” afterward. We ended up at the American Fork Amphitheater, an outdoor theatre, and he had an entire setup ready. There were candles, flowers, and a grand piano outside where he sang me another song he had written for me.
When the song was over, he got down on one knee and proposed!!!
Our families emerged from the surrounding trees after I said yes, we were surrounded by everyone we loved the most and got to celebrate all night long.
