How We Met
Marc and I met in 2009 while in college at the University of New Hampshire. We just happened to go on spring break with a group of mutual friends together, which is where the true story begins. You see, our seats were directly next to each other on the plane both to and from our trip to Punta Cana. Marc didn’t speak to me at all during the flights (he may or may not have been on and off sleeping) which I still give him a hard time about! It wasn’t until we got back from our trip that a friend was throwing a post spring break house party and everyone got invited. I actually was hoping that Marc was there, as I thought he was very handsome and I was very interested in talking more to him. A few hours into the party, Marc came up to me and finally started a conversation! The rest was history and we became official and inseparable just two months later!
how they asked
It all started with “dinner plans” on a Wednesday night to celebrate Marc’s 30th birthday a day early. It was a school night for me (I am a teacher) so I almost asked to postpone dinner to a better night when I didn’t have to get up so early in the morning. I decided not too, since it was a big birthday week for my special man! Like usual, we headed out to take the dog for a walk before our dinner reservations. As we were walking, Marc turned suddenly into Ramler Park in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston, MA. which is not a dog friendly park. I got nervous and said we were not suppose to be there and he assured me it would be okay because no one would notice the dog. We sat on the bench for a minute or two and then all of a sudden he had grabbed my hand and started walking me towards the middle of the park and said “you know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you, right?” Right then, I knew what was happening. I immediately started crying and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! In the moment, I was crying while enjoying the ring, Marc’s smile and our little pup but then I noticed three friends around the park, taking photos of us! Marc had planned for a few friends to be there, to photograph our special moment. We took some pictures and then headed home quickly to call our parents. Not long after, we walked into our ”
dinner reservation” and out jumped about 20 of our closest friends that Marc had asked to come celebrate with us! It was such a special night, and it could not have been any more perfect! His proposal was simply amazing.
