How They Asked
We were at a friend’s barn for an open house, a band we have talked about booking for our one day wedding was playing and they started playing Keith Whitley’s “When You Say Nothing at All” and he asked me to dance. As we were on the dance floor he said to me “you know it’s just us out here right?” I said “That’s all I care about” having no idea what was going on. And between sections of the song he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and be his forever. I ugly cried and had absolutely no idea. I couldn’t even get out words so I shook my head yes. He put the ring on my finger, everyone was cheering, and we finished dancing to the song.
