How We Met
Tyler and I met in a pretty non-traditional way on Tinder, a popular dating app for singles. I wasn’t really looking for anything serious, but Tyler was everything I wanted and more. After exchanging phone numbers, we found out that we would be attending the same college together (West Liberty University) and we planned to meet each other in person after the first day of classes. Our first meeting was actually our first date. Tyler was a complete gentleman and ended up surprising me with a picnic overlooking the lake at Oglebay Park. It was the sweetest and most thoughtful date ever!
After that, I was hooked. Unfortunately for us, Tyler moved to Oklahoma at the end of the school year when he accepted a job offer for Phillips 66, but we continued our relationship long distance as we both didn’t want to end what we knew was an amazing relationship.
how they asked
Tyler and I stayed in a hotel in Pittsburgh after coming back from his home in Oklahoma. He told me that I needed to be ready to leave the hotel at 8:15 in the morning and to wear a dress he bought me. I was suspicious, but I did as he directed. In the morning, we got in the car and started driving to some unknown destination. Tyler told me that I needed to wear a blindfold, so I reluctantly held one he provided to my eyes. When we reached our destination, Tyler continued to lead me to for quite some time until he took off the blind fold and I saw that we were at Phipps Botanical Garden! I was so excited because I always wanted to go. Then, I saw a photographer taking pictures of us, and then I became aware of what was going to happen. Tyler led me to a beautiful room filled with hundreds of beautiful flowers and plants. He told me how much he loved me and how he never wants to spend his life without me. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen! It truly was the happiest day of my life and I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together!
