How We Met
Tyler and I actually met on a dating site! We found out that we were going to be attending the same college in the fall and started talking to each other. He was the easiest person to have a conversation with, and I quickly found myself being more and more attracted to him the more we talked. When school started in August, we met for the first time, and he took me on a surprise date! He had a picnic set up for us at Oglebay Park overlooking a lake. It was so romantic! After that, the rest was history.
how they asked
During my school break, I went to visit Tyler in Oklahoma. We planned on returning to our hometowns (West Virginia & Ohio) for Christmas! When we arrived in Pittsburgh, I shortly found out that we were staying at the Sheraton in Station Square. I was surprised and a little suspicious. Before we went to bed, Tyler told me that I needed to be ready at 8:15 sharp and to make sure that I was wearing the beautiful gown that he had purchased for me a few weeks before. This warning instantly made me think that he was going to propose! In the morning, Tyler met me at my door in a suit, looking handsome as ever. We set out for the car, and as soon as we got in, he told me to put on a blindfold he had brought with him. I was freaking out, but I obliged. After driving for a while, Tyler told me that it was time to get out. He wouldn’t let me take the blindfold off, so he had to help lead me to the secret destination! After stumbling blindly with him for about 5 minutes, he let me take my blindfold off, and I was amazed when I saw that we were at Phipps Botanical Gardens! It was so beautiful, and I knew in that instant that he was going to ask me to be his wife. He led me to a beautiful room with poinsettias and other breathtaking flowers. Tyler told me that he couldn’t imagine his life without me, and before I knew it, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him! The ring was so incredibly beautiful! After we had a few moments to ourselves, I found out that our families were there too! I was so excited and happy that he included them into our special day. There was also a photographer that captured the entire thing! Christmas Eve of 2015, was hands down the best yet! I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with this amazing man.
