How We Met
About 4 years ago I was introduced to my fiancé Liam by a family friend, who happened to be Liam’s aunt Chris. She mentioned to me that she had a nephew my age and would be happy to set us up. Liam and I connected through social media, as most modern romances begin these days, started talking, and hit it off from the start. At the time, I was attending the University of Delaware and Liam was studying at Drexel University in Philadelphia. We had our first date in Philly, laughing and exploring the city together and the rest is history!
Little did I know that Liam and I would turn out to be a perfect match, fall in love, make so many amazing memories together, and end up engaged just 3 1/2 years later! Thanks aunt Chris for being our matchmaker <3
How They Asked
Fast forward to Thanksgiving of 2018 in Newark, DE, the day Liam asked me to marry him. After a morning of spending time with some family on his side, we made our way to his aunt Chris’ house where both of our families would be having Thanksgiving dinner. We got out of our car and began walking toward the house when he guided me toward the grass. At first I was confused as to why we weren’t entering the house, but suddenly it all clicked as he reached in his coat pocket, got down on one knee, and opened up a little black box. My eyes welled up and I immediately said YES!
At that moment I was filled with so much happiness and was so excited for the future with my best friend. I then looked around to see our families watching through the windows of the house, cheering and rushing outside to congratulate us. Family is so important to us both and to have everyone there, including my sister who travelled from Boston, meant the world. It was an unforgettable moment shared between us, followed by a night of thanks and celebration with the ones we love! I am so thankful for our love and can’t wait to spend forever with my partner in crime, best friend, and love of my life.
