Amanda and Joshua

How We Met

Joshua and I met on Facebook- no huge exciting story there. He had no intentions of dating, and I had no intentions of letting him slip through my fingers. After 3 months of being friends, he finally took a chance and we’ve been together almost 4 years now.

how they asked

Joshua always swore he would not propose until I graduated from college, or the end of May. Obviously, I was expecting a graduation proposal or something along those lines. Boy, did he fool me. Joshua told me he would be working overtime (which is no surprise- he works like a maniac) and that I should bring my niece and nephews to the firehouse and let them play on the trucks. This isn’t anything out of the ordinary for us. Well, when we got to the firehouse Joshua asked if I wanted to ride in the bucket of Tower 9 before they put it back inside- of course I said yes. We got up above the station and when I looked out all of our closest friends and both of our families were below us holding letters that read “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” I feel so blessed to have gotten to share this moment with the people who are dear to my heart- Joshua even managed to get my cousin there to share our moment before she lost her battle with cancer 2 months later. Hands down, I have the most amazing husband to be!
