How We Met
Christmas day, out front of Walgreens, is when we first laid eyes on each other. We had been messaging each other on a dating site, and he was so excited to meet me. We drove around town looking at Christmas lights, talking about ourselves and our lives, he told me stories of being in the Army and deployment in Afghanistan and I told him stories of what I had been doing in my life such as hobbies and sports. He gave me a hug and a kiss on the forehead and said call him anytime, he would answer. We went out the next day for some running around and have been inseparable every since.
Even that first day, I could tell there was something different about this. It felt natural, and I could feel his love for me. I was the first one to say I love you, but he swears he has loved me since the day we met. Throughout our dating life, he has told me of how much I have influenced his life, made him realize what really matters, and shown him a different side of life. Jeff has opened my eyes to many things I hadn’t known before, has loved me unconditionally, and is my complete rock.
how they asked
I am a huge Mickey Mouse/Disney fan, so we planned a trip to Disneyland for our anniversary and when we went to go see Mickey Mouse, Jeff got down on one knee and proposed! He said “Amanda Lynne Hoover, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me, you came into my life when I had given up hope on loyal and honest women and I couldn’t thank you enough for helping shape me into the man I am today. Will you please marry me?”
The ring is absolutely beautiful and I get compliments on it every day. We are hoping to plan a wedding September 6th, 2020 in the San Diego area on the beach.
