How We Met
We went on our first date 4 years ago at Serendipity in New York City. It’s so perfect that “Serendipity” actually means “Finding something good by accident,” because even though I wasn’t looking for anything serious at the time, It was instantly clear that meeting James was the best thing to ever happen to me.
Growing up, my mom told me many times the story of how she met my dad at a party and said “That’s the guy I’m going to marry.” (They’r still going strong 27 years later.) I always told her that I didn’t believe you could so easily know that you’re going to marry someone, just like that. But sure enough, after getting home from my first date with James, I said to my mom “Thats the guy I’m going to marry.” And like mother like daughter, That’s exactly what I’m going to do.
After that night, our love story only got better with time. He began to show up outside of my job with flowers and buy me little gifts for no reason. When I walked out of class after my first day of law school, he was waiting there for me with a dozen roses in his hand, supporting my dreams like he did from the start.
how they asked
On November 7, 2015 he took me back to Serendipity where it all began. And instead of sharing all of his hopes and dreams with me like he did on our first date all those years ago, this time he just asked me one question…”Will you marry me?” …And of course, I said yes! Now 4 years, 3 moves, 2 cities, and 1 gorgeous diamond ring later, I can honestly say that meeting him was my own personal “Serendipity” and I couldn’t be happier to be the future Mrs. Amore!
