How We Met
Cody and I met in college as Freshman at SUNY New Paltz. We lived in the same dorm and he would knock on my door inviting me to Latin dancing programs being held in our building. I never went (haha!) but we went to a party together one night and a couple of his friends pushed our heads together so we would kiss. We hit it off and have been inseparable ever since.

It was my birthday and Cody told my coworkers to take me out for a few drinks after work. About an hour into drinks, him and a couple of his friends met up with us and had a couple drinks with us. A few hours later, we decided to go back to our apartment and we were going to just hang out and watch a movie. I get to my apartment and open the door and was terrified as I got screamed at by a bunch of people yelling surprise. He threw me a surprise birthday and pulled it off very well. I was so confused and was kind of in a daze the first couple of hours because I was not expecting it at all. Then about an hour into the party, his friends call me into the kitchen to distract me and Cody comes out in a full suit. Freaking out, I start backing up asking what is going on. All emotion just drops from my body as I stood there in complete surprise. He did his whole spiel with my dog barking like crazy in the background and then dropped to one knee,(my dog weirdly got quiet right at that moment) and asked me to marry him in front of all of our friends. I could not have asked for a better way to be proposed to and I am so thankful that our closest friends got to be a part of it.
