How We Met
Cee and I met when I was a teenager through family. We didn’t start dating until I was 20 years old. He asked me out countless times and I finally said yes to a Valentine’s Day dinner. I actually cancelled on Valentine’s Day because I was so nervous and didn’t know if I was making the right choice by going out with him. Even though I cancelled on him, Cee still came to my house and filled my car with sweet Valentine Day surprises. I felt so bad and agreed to another day and actually went on that one. After that official date, we’ve been together ever since. 6 years later, we have a now 5 year old daughter, bought our first home together and grew together as a couple. I can’t imagine living this life without him or our family.
how they asked
This year we decided to host Christmas at our house for the first time and after we all ate dinner, I was told that we needed to go downstairs because my Grandpa wanted to give a speech, which was a normal thing. All of our friends and family gathered into our basement and I was just waiting for my Grandpa to start speaking. Next thing I know, Cee started to speak, which is not normal for him at all. He thanked everyone for coming and told everyone that he forgot to give Olivia and I our present that morning. He brought out a box from the other room and gave it to Olivia and I to open. We tore off the wrapping paper and inside the box was a sign. A sign that would change my life forever. It was a banner that said, “Mommy, will you marry Daddy?” I couldn’t help but start to cry because it was so unexpected. Cee got down on his knees, held open the box with the most beautiful ring and asked him to marry him and I of course said yes. It is definitely a Christmas I will never forget! In the photo, Cee was on his knees and Olivia and I have the same face expression. It’s one of my favorite pictures that captured the moment I will never forget.
