How We Met
Zack and I met on tinder. We are that couple. I know it’s so cliche but it really was love at first site. I saw his picture, and his dimples when he smiled, and was just hoping when I swiped right it would be a match! Sure enough it was a match. It was so easy to talk to him and it felt like I knew him forever. Eventually he asked me to meet him for lunch. We met for pizza (my favorite food, so I was sold) and he didn’t even give me a chance to say hi or anything. Instead he walked up to me and just kissed me. It probably would’ve been creepy from any other guy, but with him it was just right. From then on we were inseparable.

I go to nursing school in Louisiana, and he works in Texas. Long weekends are great for us because I get an extra day with him! It was labor day weekend and he was coming to visit. My college roommate Haleigh was also coming to visit from Arkansas, so I was very excited! On Saturday, she surprised me by asking me to be a bridesmaid and a trip to Shreveport to pick out bridesmaids dresses. I was so excited for her and I thought that the weekend was all about her! Zack always spoils me with dates when he comes into town so earlier that week he asked me to dinner Saturday night. After the trip to Shreveport I hurried home and changed so we could make our reservation. Zack took me to my favorite restaurant in Monroe and I had the best dinner ever. He hardly touched his food, which I thought was weird. Afterwards, Zack told me that he wanted to go to Black Bayou to catch the sunset.
We got to Black Bayou and he led me to the highest part of the walkway and told me how much he loved me. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! He wouldn’t take the ring out of the box because he was so nervous it would fall in the bayou, but it was the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen. I was shocked and so excited and of course said yes! It was such a sweet moment. Zack had a secret photographer there to take pictures and the view was incredible.
He took me back to my house where he had all of my friends there for a surprise engagement party! The surprises didn’t end there because my two best friends from Dallas surprised me as well. He knew how important it was to be surrounded by my best friends and he thought about so many little details to make it the most special day ever. It couldn’t have been a more perfect engagement.
