How They Asked
I thought we were going to a work event for his colleagues at The Hamilton. We were the first to arrive in the private party room and were just hanging out when the waitress asked to see him. Suddenly I got a feeling that something was going on. He handed me a menu but I couldn’t read anything because I was sure that “IT” was happening. He walked over to a table and put up a picture of our dog Chloe (she had to be there!), two wood block letters for A and J, and then hit play on a CD player – it was our song.
He proposed, we slow danced to the rest of our song, drank champagne and both of our families soon arrived for part 2 – a surprise engagement party! It was everything I dreamed of and more.
Poor Jerrod must have been freaking out because I was sick and almost didn’t go to the dinner. AND – that menu was actually the proposal, I just didn’t notice that the menu was edited for me.
