How We Met: George and I met through a Christian dating website. Although we were both hesitant about online dating, we found each other in the first week! I knew right away he was a true gentleman because he wanted to take things slow and get to know me through e-mail and on the phone before we met in person. Before long we knew that something special was happening and he asked me out on our first date. We had an instant connection and it felt like we had known each other for years. We spent that evening in deep meaningful conversation, enjoying good food, laughing, and walking by the lake hand in hand. George says he knew that night that he would marry me. We love to travel, adventure to new places, spend time with our families, play at Disneyland, and relax in the hammock watching movies. Our relationship has been such a blessing and we know our faith in Christ will continue to grow and bless us.
how they asked: This past week, George told me he got us tickets for a marketing seminar down by the beach. I recently started my own photography company and he and his father own a successful Tax office in Anaheim. We are both very driven and like to learn new ways to grow our business. So I wasn’t thinking anything out of the ordinary when he told me to dress nice and he would be picking me up at 6am. It was a wonderful car ride down the coast holding hands and listening to music. As we drove, he pointed out that we were passing Crystal Cove. It was the same area where we stopped last year after our seminar. On that day we had such a special and emotional talk about our journey so far. We chatted honestly about our struggles and excitement for our future together. It was one of those moments in our relationship that we love to think back on.
George told me he wanted to stop by real quick and walk down to our spot. I was worried that we would be late, but he insisted. As we got closer I started to notice that the wooden beach path was lit with candles. When we got to the little overlook, I could see the whole spot was decorated with candles, flowers, and photos of us. He turned towards me and held my hands so tight.
He talked about how much he loved me, what a blessing I was in his life, and how he wanted to always take care of me. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
Then I heard our families cheering. They had been behind the bushes around the corner. They ran up to congratulate us. George hired Emily to photograph the surprise and we got to spend a little bit of time with her enjoying the beach. She did a wonderful job capturing the moment. We went out to brunch with our families and then got to spend the rest of the day celebrating at Disneyland. It was magical.
