How We Met
“Love at first sight…Britton has always maintained that he knew I was the one from the moment he saw me. He describes the video he first saw me in and how beautiful and pure my laugh was on my friend’s Instagram page. He was persistent from the beginning, repeatedly asking for the chance to take me out on a date. I was young, enjoying my life and experiences as a college student and simply could not understand how a post-grad living in New York could possibly know and want to be with me without even knowing me. Being the gentleman he was, Britton accepted a friendship and continued talking to me for months before asking again to take me out.
After saying yes, he wasted no time and drove the 5 hours to visit me the following day and take me to dinner. We walked along the Charles River, taking in the ambiance as well as the feelings and chemistry we had with each other. From the moment we were together, I felt like we were soul mates; I was swoon. Everything just came easy together. We were immediately best friends and have been inseparable since. In five short years, we have created a life together that I could have only dreamed of. After a couple of years of long-distance dating, Britton permanently moved to Boston to be together. Since then, we’ve adopted two dogs and bought a house that we have made our home.
How They Asked
Our proposal was picture perfect and everything I had wished for as a little girl. He surprised me by proposing to me in the exact spot we had shared our first kiss on the Charles River. I walked across the bridge and as I neared the end of the path, Britton walked out from behind the trees and dropped down on one knee. I immediately burst into tears.
The Charles River has become one of my favorite places to visit and reminisce about where our paths have taken us. This August, at our wedding, we will be celebrating 6 years together and each and every day Britton continues to remind me just how sweet and loving he is. I can’t wait to see where the rest of our lives will take us and for the family, we will build together.”
