How We Met
Colin and I met Halloween 2007, he had on fairy wings and the most gorgeous smile I had ever seen. We became official on August 28, 2008. I fell madly in love with him almost instantly, he was everything I had ever dreamed of. In June 2009, he took me to meet his Grandparents in Northern Ireland and that was when I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.
how they asked
We went to Northern Ireland in May 2015 to visit Colin’s grandpa. We had been just 6 years earlier in June 2009 and that’s when I fell even more in love with Colin and Ireland, especially The Giant’s Causeway on the Antrim Coast. When we were there in 2009, we set our camera on the rocks and took a picture of us kissing at the Giant’s Causeway and decided to recreate that photo when went back to Ireland this time around. Colin was acting very nervous that morning but I assumed it was because we rented a car and he was driving on the opposite side of the road for the first time ever (which is kind of scary, haha). So we climbed up on the rock formation and Colin said “I’m going to get up the camera to recreate our photo, you sit down and I’ll be right back” he was taking a few minutes longer than I expected but I didn’t mind, the view was incredibly breathtaking. Next thing I know, Colin is down on his knee and he says “Alysha, will you marry me?” I instantly turned into a blubbering mess and I kept saying “oh my god” over and over until he asks “did you say ‘yes’?” haha. Which of course I did! We are getting married August 27th, 2016 (the day before our 8 year anniversary!) I’m the luckiest girl in the world!
