How They Asked
Chiraag and I are the types who like to fill out the schedule to the max, so on December 7th when we had a full day of activities from brunch to Christmas events, to meeting his cousin and girlfriend for happy hour and dinner, I was not surprised at all. We had gone to Lake Ray Hubbard, which is very east of Dallas, where we were going to meet the couple.
Once we arrived there was a pier on to the lake with a lighthouse. Chiraag asked to take a walk down the pier, and we could take pictures (none of which surprised me). As we walked down we walked towards the lighthouse and he told me there was something for me. I looked ahead and there was champagne, roses, and a letter. After reading the letter I turned around and the man of my dreams was on one knee.
I definitely blacked out a little from shock and excitement but as soon as he asked if I would marry him, I couldn’t have answered fast enough. After that, we took photos with the photographer and he told me we were going to another location for another shoot.
Once we arrived we went up a few floors and I entered a room where all of our family and friends surprised me. It was the most amazing end to an amazing day! And now we cannot wait to start our wedding planning for our fairy tale destination wedding in Italy!
