How We Met
Justin and I met in 2012 when he was my manager at a high school job! Despite being my manager, we were only a few months apart in age. Justin tried to make us a thing back then, but I was more focused on going to college and living my life after a long term high school relationship. We remained friends and kept each other updated on the important things in life but rarely saw each other. Justin was patient and after years of talking about it, we started dating after a Columbus Blue Jacket game in March 2018!
How They Asked
We had scheduled family photos with siblings for a mother’s day/birthday present for my mom. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity for Justin to propose but thought there was no way he had a ring already! We took a few photos of all 4 of us, then Elli told us to do a few “couples only” pictures. We were awkward at first but got a few shots, then Elli walked us over to a few setup props. She said she had an idea and wanted to try a new pose: a trust fall. At first, I was like, excuse me what? But then she said my hair would look good and I stopped questioning everything! After doing a practice fall, Elli told me to turn around instead. I hesitated and giggled because I had no clue what was happening, but turning around to find Justin on one knee was the best thing to ever happen to me! I am so glad nothing came about from us in 2012 because we probably would not be here today :)
