How We Met
Tyler and I met in January of 2015 on my birthday. It was our senior year at Penn State University. Thanks to mutual friends, we were introduced at the Phyrst (a popular PSU basement bar with the best french fries ever!), and the rest was history. From there on out, we never left each other’s side. Penn State is now an incredibly special place for us to visit.
That same year, after graduation, we took the step and moved to Philadelphia together. We quickly fell in love with Philly, especially its restaurant scene, and decided to buy a house together in November of 2018. We have been having so much fun learning our way around the city while exploring yummy new restaurants and bars. We are also fortunate enough to have some of our PSU friends nearby!
How They Asked
On June 1st, 2019, Tyler got down on one knee in Logan Square Park in Philadelphia, PA. We had just left dinner at Pizzeria Vetri. As Tyler began pulling out the ring box from his pocket, I heard screams from a nearby rooftop. I looked up and noticed (through my tear-filled eyes) Assembly Rooftop Lounge across the street was lined with people who I would later find out to be our closest family and friends. Everyone was able to watch Tyler propose, which was so amazing. My brother even flew in from Miami, Florida!
After all, was said and done, Tyler threw everyone on the roof a huge thumbs up as they continued to cheer. Pop the champagne!
Tyler had hired a photographer, my good friend David Campli, to capture the moment. There was also a photographer on the roof capturing our family and friends’ reactions during the proposal. I could not have imagined a more perfect day!
