Mia and Brendan
Aaron and I have known each other since high school, he was a year older than me but I had a crush on him starting my freshman year although both of us ended up dating other people. We both went away to college but our parents attended the same church so when we would come home on breaks we would run into each other and on the Christmas break of my sophomore year Aaron ended up asking me on a date. We tried it out but decided we didn’t want to do a long-distance relationship. When I graduated college I moved back to my hometown and we started to reconnect and go out on some more dates. We dated for 3.5 years before Aaron made the big move.
Aaron worked out an elaborate surprise involving both our family and friends. He had my close group of friends set up a brunch to “celebrate Christmas together” they happened to pick the town where Aaron and I had our first date 7 years prior, but I thought nothing of it because it’s a middle ground and we meet there often for a fancy brunch together.
Meanwhile, Aaron has drawn a map of the town indicating where my friends and I were eating, the path we would take for shopping and group pictures by the falls and Christmas lights, and a path where all of our family and other close friends should hide in stores and stay while my friends got me to the exact location of the proposal. After brunch my friends suggested we go take a picture by the big Christmas tree and then get drinks at another little place down the road.
So we stopped by the tree on our way and we’re all lined up for pictures. As we were all posing, Aaron snuck out of a bush and got down on one knee behind me and yelled my name, he had a photographer hiding in the bushes as well who captured the entire thing from my initial reaction to the special moments following. While all this was happening all of our family came out of hiding from nearby stores and were able to be there for the entire thing. It was so special being in the town we had our first date, and having almost all of our loved ones there!
