How We Met
We first met in the midst of summer vacation leading up to our senior year of high school. Smitten by each other from the start, our friendship grew into love. October 21st is a very special day to us because on this day in 2006 our relationship began and on October 21, 2017 we will become husband and wife.

As a first time passport holder, I walked through O’hare International Airport anticipating a trip that Colin and I had in the making for years. Destination… London, England. We ventured through London on our own that first day of traveling (I took pictures of every detail to show my family upon my arrival back to the states). The very next day I woke up to a morning of tea at Fortnum and Mason followed by the sights of the changing of the guards. As we continued our journey through London, Colin took me to The Somerset House. As we walked through the landmark, I stood in awe of the beautiful home and the history of it. He took me through the courtyard close to the beautiful fountains.
And it was there, under an umbrella in the rain, that Colin bent down on one knee. From that moment it was history. A London engagement. Colin then lead me, and the ring, inside to the champagne bar to celebrate. Walking through crowds of people, we turned a corner into a private room full of screaming, smiling familiar faces. Colin had arranged for both of our families to surprise me in London. A moment to remember forever and royally good time! Colin and I will be married on the date of our 11th anniversary.
