How We Met
We met in New York City in our building a few years ago. Austin found out my name from staff in the building and friended me on Facebook. Coincidentally we lived on the same floor, which neither of us realized at the time. Guess it was meant to be!
how they asked
Austin asked me to take off the day from work since Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, his favorite movie, was playing in theaters. Austin staged the whole movie, with real tickets, sign, and other movie-goers (who turned out to be movie theater staff and photographers). After we sat in the theater, Austin went to the bathroom and a movie trailer that he had made of him dressed as Han Solo on the Millenium Falcon came on the screen. I was in such shock and so confused that I kept looking around the theater. As Austin reached for his pocket on the screen, he came into the theater and got down on one knee and popped the question. It could not have been more perfect. We had dressed as Han Solo and Princess Leia at Comic Con two years ago and Star Wars is another one of Austin’s favorite movies. Movies and movie theaters are a significant part of our relationship in that we usually go to the movies together once a week. So the setting of a movie theater for our proposal was particularly special!
