Alisa and Aaron

How We Met

We went to high school together. It wasn’t until almost 10 years later that we re-met each other out at a local bar. Since that night he was persistent without being pushy to go on a first date. After that first date, everything fell into place at the right time for both of us and we’ve been inseparable ever since!

How They Asked

He wanted to take me on a Christmas surprise date night. He’s always thinking of fun adventurous surprises, so it was nothing out of the ordinary or something for me to question. He wouldn’t tell me where we were going. We pull up to a building that said “Aviation” on it. I got inside and sat in the lobby.

There was a girl with camera equipment next to us and his phone was going off as she was texting, too. I didn’t think anything of it. He then told me we were going on a helicopter ride. The girl got up and said she was a photographer for the helicopter company and was doing some commercial shooting for advertisement so she was going to come along with us and take pictures of us. We all boarded the helicopter.

As we approached NYC, the photographer said, “OK, I am going to have you point out the window and look really happy and excited”. As we flew next to the Empire State Building, I began to point. Aaron asked me, “So what do you think of that view?” I responded by saying how amazing it was.

He then said as I was looking out the helicopter window, “Yea? What do you think of this view?” I turned around to see him holding an engagement ring! I couldn’t stop looking at him all I could respond was, “Yes! Yes! Yes! Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!”. As we were landing, the pilot says that my new fiancé had one more surprise for me. I look out the window to see “Marry Me” in bright lights. Best night of my life!
