How We Met
Alicia and I first met at work. She was in the pantry trying to decide what coffee she wanted when I took the opportunity to make my introduction. With just an innocent handshake and a smile, our love story began!
How They Asked
From the beginning, there was instant chemistry. She was the total package – smart, sexy, witty… the list goes on! The next few years played out like every romantic movie I’ve ever seen – guy meets girl, guy falls in love with girl, guy has incredibly bad timing – and unfortunately, life carried me off to Los Angeles before we had a chance to explore our connection. There wasn’t a day that went by where I didn’t think about her. It wasn’t until a few years later that I was able to seize the moment and we started dating long distance from coast to coast for 6 months. I had every intention of leaving California behind and moving back to NY to be with Alicia. However, just as I was planning to make my way back, Alicia got a great opportunity to be relocated to Hong Kong for work – figures! I couldn’t take the chance of letting her slip away so I followed/chased my bride-to-be across the world!
When I finally arrived in Hong Kong, we kicked off the new chapter in our lives with a day trip to Macau enjoying a private cabana poolside. Over the past 2.5 years we’ve gone back to the same cabanas multiple times for quick escapes from the city and to reconnect.
Fast forward to May 2018 when I was agonizing over how I would propose and make it the perfect moment. I just couldn’t seem to think of the right place to pop the question. Then Alicia and I took another day trip to Macau and that’s when it hit me – this is the place where we started a new chapter in our life and it would be the perfect moment for us to take the next step in our journey. Overwhelmed with emotion, I couldn’t wait any longer so on bended knee I asked the woman of my dreams for her hand in marriage! I was so overtaken by the moment, I didn’t even have a ring yet, but she still said YES! ?
