How We Met
We met at a local minor league baseball game the summer before my senior year of high school! Jarrod had just been stationed at Fort Bragg, NC with the U.S. Army. We immediately hit it off once we learned that we are both huge Greenbay Packers fans!
After the baseball game, we went out for dinner and then talked in my car about everything under the sun for at least two hours. After that first date, we began spending our weekends together exploring NC! Four years later, we are engaged and have a sweet dog together named Pepper. I’m so happy to have found my best friend and partner for life all in one!
How They Asked
Jarrod had been planning a trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina since Christmas, and in March, we finally decided to go. To say that the weather was bad would be an understatement, but we were determined to make the most of it. Despite the rain and forty-plus mile-per-hour winds, we made our way to each of the lighthouses of the Outer Banks!
We arrived at Bodie Island Lighthouse where Jarrod got down on one knee on the boardwalk! At first, I thought he was joking because he proposed with a literal rock, but the thing he pulled out the ring from his coat pocket and asked me again. Of course, I said yes! Jarrod had hired one of my good friends who just so happens to be a photographer to capture the moment! It was the best day, and I could not be luckier to be marrying my best friend!
