Alexandra and Danny
How We Met
Danny and I met our sophomore year of engineering school. We lived 3 doors down from each other and quickly became good friends, then fell for each other shortly after. Five years have passed since we first fell for each other and we’ve grown together tremendously, through living in four different states, graduating college, bouts of long distance, family loss, becoming puppy parents and much more, I’m even more crazy about him every experience we share.
how they asked
We had planned a vacation to Colorado with two of our best friends earlier in the summer. The beginning of the trip was a visit to our friends’ ranch in Kremmling, we had visited two summers before and fell in love with the ranch, a picturesque setting right in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. Once we arrived at the ranch, we took a UTV ride to see the views. Halfway through, there was another UTV parked on the path overlooking the view. Danny volunteered to drive it back down to the house. We got in and I said, “are you sure you can drive this thing?!”. He laughed and got out, walked over, opened my door, grabbed my hands and led me to the ledge overlooking the mountains.
He got down on one knee and said he loved me and knew when he first met me that he would marry me someday. He took out the ring and asked me to marry him. The best response I could come up with was, “are you serious?! YES!”. Afterward, we headed back down to the ranch to meet up with our friends. When we arrived, a toast celebration was waiting for us on the rocky beach. I turned around to see his siblings, parents, and my parents coming out of the brush. He planned eight family members flying in from 3 different states to be with us on this special day. I froze, totally not believing they were all really there. The thoughtfulness and planning that he put into the proposal were unparalleled to anything I’ve experienced, he made sure it was the best day of my life. I can’t wait to see what’s to come… time to plan a wedding!
