How We Met
Chris and I met on the first day of college. We ran into each other in the hallway of our residence hall, he was a computer science major and I was a history major, yet we both bonded over our internet not working. We became fast friends but didn’t start dating until grad school!
How They Asked
Almost five years after we started dating and after five years of laughs, running half marathons and taking beach trips, Chris was ready to propose. He had a master plan of convincing me to go for a run in one of our favorite training spots, Jones Beach. However when we woke up the morning he had planned to do it, stubborn me did not want to exercise and all I wanted to do was eat Taco Bell breakfast. He kept trying to convince me to go for a run or at least a walk first, but I demanded we get some cheesy breakfast burrito goodness.
Knowing it was a battle he wasn’t going to win, we got breakfast. Then to my surprise, Chris kept driving. He drove all the way to Jones Beach which left me very confused. He said he wanted to go for a walk on the boardwalk and then started talking about how much he loves it there because it’s a special place for us. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I know his plan went awry but the morning was indicative of our relationship, love, compromise and a little Taco Bell.
