I planned him a surprise trip to Virginia for his birthday weekend- the first place he ever told me he loved me when he decided to show up at my hotel room door while I was on a business trip there (and we had only been together for a few months). Fast forward to his birthday this year, we took a road trip to Virginia with our dog and were looking for a park for her to run around. We stumbled across this beautiful park-very quiet, it was just us and the dog.
He told me he had something to tell me. He had lied about working late last week and had actually met for dinner with my dad to ask his permission to marry me. Before I knew it he was down on one knee and I was crying, and he proposed!
