How We Met

Mutual friends set Cody and I up in high school and ever since then we have been crazy about each other. Going to schools in different states we have been in a long distance relationship for almost four years now! But soon that will be over as we start this beautiful journey together…

how they asked

Cody and I go to different schools, one of us in Indianapolis and one of us in Nashville. He convinced me to come home for his sister’s 30th birthday party and after finding out I had off of work (He had called and asked them to not schedule me), I said I would be there. Instead of going to a surprise party for his sister I had a surprise of my own! A horse drawn carriage picked us up and took us to Ewing manor, a gorgeous classic mansion with a cobblestone path and stone arches. In the courtyard Cody had set up a table and chairs with my favorite flowers, peonies (all the way from Holland!) and his laptop. He played me a video with clips of family and friends telling us how much they loved us and were happy for us. Through tears and tremors I watched him get down on one knee and ask me to marry him. I didn’t even hesitate to say yes! Thinking that was the only surprise of the night we went to dinner where I was amazed to see our immediate family and a few close friends! It was an amazing way to end a perfect proposal!
