How We Met
Anthony and I always joke around with each other and say well have to lie to our kids about how we met one day. Let’s just say we owe our relationship to the creators of the dating app ‘Tinder’. Who would’ve thought that a silly dating app where I would spend hours swiping left and right would be how I met my future husband cause I definitely did not think so! It all made sense as to how our paths crossed on our first and second dates. Anthony and I were out to dinner when we found out that our whole lives (until he moved) he had lived only 5 minutes from me, we grew up in the same church, AND his aunt was my second grade teacher! (who in fact was my all time favorite teacher). We truly couldn’t believe it and just knew it was just meant to be.
how they asked
As I started my second year in grad school this past September, I kept telling my boyfriend how I wanted to plan a trip with him to get away for the day and to escape from all the stressors and craziness of school to do something fun with him. I had mentioned to him a resort where they have hiking up in New Paltz that I had been dying to go to. Little did I know I had set up the perfect spot for him to plan a proposal. Anthony and I arrived at Mohonk Mountain House on November 4th, 2017. When we got there, he told me we were going to this popular spot at that resort that had a really cool view. When we finally got to the place he took me (which was on a rock in the middle of a hiking trail that overlooked the most amazing view of all the mountains and beautiful fall foliage) he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After we spent the day together just the two of us, we drove back home and our families were at his house waiting to celebrate with us! By swiping “right” into our tinder love story, we are now becoming husband and wife!
Best day ever!!!
