How We Met: Eric and Alessa first met at the catering company at the University of Colorado Boulder. They both were in school (Eric a grade older) and found the job through close friends. They had a great time working at the various events and weddings, but loved the free food even more.
They cheered on their CU Buffs at football and basketball games and saw each other around campus, but Eric had a girlfriend at the time, so they remained friends. Alessa always thought Eric was cute though! Little did they know that this beautiful college town would mean so much to them in the future. They are now getting married at the football stadium, Folsom Field, next June 4, 2016!
how they asked: Eric and Alessa planned a trip with Eric’s Mom and Stepdad to Maui after Valentine’s day this year. Alessa had never been to Hawaii and was thrilled to go on vacation, and can tell you that a proposal did not cross her mind. Their parents, grandparents and Eric’s brother knew what Eric had planned, but that was it. Eric had help from his Mom and Stepdad to plan out a day trip to Lahaina to pop the question.
After getting a bit sidetracked in an art gallery, searching for a chair shaped rock with healing powers and a massive banyan tree, lunch on the coast and a hike to a breathtaking area called Dragon’s teeth, Eric asked Alessa to marry him!
Then the group decided they still needed to hike to the nakalele blowhole and the heart rock and came home just in time for some prosecco and pupus (appetizers) on the lanai at their condo in Wailea. It was a day they will never ever forget!
