Alanna and Nicolas
How We Met
Nick and I met about 5 years ago. I was leaving my old job to go to school and he was taking over my position. We worked together a few times before I left for 2 years to go to school in North Carolina. So the summer after I finished school my old boss offered to let me come back and work part time and this is when Nick and I truly started to get to know each other. Another coworker was leaving for the summer so that meant Nick and I would be working together almost everyday. He seemed shy and timid at first but I felt a connection. My cheeks would hurt by the end of my shift from smiling and laughing so much. The funny thing was everyone had told Nick how they thought we’d be perfect for each other and it turns out they were right. After a few short months of just chatting at work we went on our first date and the rest is history.
how they asked
Fast forward to last Valentine’s Day… Nick told me I had to be ready to go at 9 am and he was taking me to a surprise. So I got in the car and he had me close my eyes and drove me to the Sarasota airport were he said we were going on a helicopter tour of the area. I thought how cool I’ve never been in a helicopter. So we started out and after 15 mins I commented that I thought we were near my house. The pilot asked me to give to directions to my house and to my surprise when he flew over I saw a huge sign spelling out will you marry me in the grass. And there was my entire family and neighbors all outside waving. I’m a VERY talkative person and for the first time in my life I was literally speechless. We then continued the tour around the area and I got the same pain in my cheeks that I had before when we first met. I just kept looking at him and laughing because I was in awe that he was my fiancé and I now get to spend every single day with him for the rest of our lives. Our wedding day is set for October 27th, 2018 and it can’t come fast enough!
