How We Met
Mitch and I met when we were just 15 years old. It was truly love at first sight. I even told my dad when he picked me up that night, that I loved him and I was going to marry him. Through high school drama, college, and ups and downs we managed to stay together, and here we are at 23 years old, living together, saving up to buy our first home, and getting our first career job. Everyone had their doubts but, we proved them wrong. Here we are so strong, growing our little family by four paws and hopefully two feet in a few years and so in love. When you fall in love with someone, that doesn’t change.
How They Asked
We went on vacation during my February break. I am a teacher so I have president’s week off in the city. He took the week off and I knew it was perfect because it was also our anniversary week too! I kept on mentioning a ring to him and told him how perfect it would be to do it there. He kept on telling me that he really wanted to relax on the trip and it just wasn’t going to happen. Little did I know… He had the ring for 4 months hiding in our CEILING because I know where everything is in the apartment. Or, at least I thought I did! On our FIRST day in Sequoia National Park in California, on February 20th, just 2 days before our 8 year anniversary on a cold crisp day, Mitch and I walked down a trail to Morrow Rock.
The whole time Mitch had a plan to propose on top of it but, I chickened out because it was steep and snow-covered! He needed a plan B!! Mitch got down on one knee on the next overlook with the whole land around us and asked me to marry him. I was SO in shock, I couldn’t even cry!! I was just so happy to marry my best friend! It made our vacation and now we have a story to live in and tell our children!
