How We Met: Adyson (bride’s daughter) decided last year that she wanted to play softball and ultimately was the reason we met! Alana was watching one of Adyson’s first softball games from the stands when Brian sat down right next to her. Brian was at the game to watch a college friend coach his daughter, who was playing against Adyson’s team. Throughout the game we made small talk and laughed but Brian never got Alana’s number after the game.
The next day, Brian had found Alana on Facebook and asked her out. The first date was at Stone Creek at Metropolis. The simple dinner date turned into 6 hours of talking and laughing. We have been together ever since. With a little help from fate and Adyson, we found love at the softball diamonds.
how they asked: The day before Valentine’s Day I got invited to a mini-roadtrip to see one of my favorite musicians, Dustin Lynch. My 3 best friends and I piled into a car right after work and headed out for a girls night. As we were enjoying the sold out show, I was chatting with my friend standing behind me. She grabbed my shoulders and turned me towards the stage to see my boyfriend, Brian, walking on stage with Dustin Lynch. EVERYTHING. STOOD. STILL.
As Dustin and my boyfriend chatted on stage about “taking care of some business”, Dustin engaged the crowd for me to come up. Pushing through thousands, I made my way on stage completely speechless (maybe the only time in my life I have ever been short of words). Brian nervously told me how I was his best friend and he wanted to spend his life with me.
Dustin immediately went into the song “Sing It Me” and we danced for the first time as an engaged couple on stage, on the day before Valentine’s Day. It was everything I have dreamed of and so much more. Now, I will be his wife on April 30, 2016 and our first dance will be that same song we first danced to engaged.
