Adam and Mlayne

Wedding Proposal Ideas in Waterloo Station, London

how they asked

Adam contacted TopSecret in the summer asking for an original way to propose to his partner Mlayne. He’d always wanted to hire a flash mob to surprise her so, we made it happen with the help of our talented team of professional musicians. Like Adam, we wanted this to be the most epic flash mob marriage proposal ever. Both he and Mlayne were delighted with the results.

Creating an epic flash mob proposal takes time. TopSecret spent weeks planning every detail. Adam wanted the Bruno Mars song Just The Way You Are as his proposal music so we decided to give the performance a twist to prolong the surprise for Mlayne. Performing a mash-up starting with the Halleljuah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah meant creating a bespoke musical arrangement. David & Lydia from Giardino Strings surpassed themselves and the 30 professional musicians spent days learning the piece off by heart.

Having secured Waterloo station as the location, the team arrived early to rehearse and walk through the choreography. The Station Team were extremely accommodating and the musicians were true pros in dealing with the cold and making this an exceptional event.

We’d liaised with their friends and family in the weeks leading up to the flash mob and, as arranged, they arrived an hour before to rehearse with the team. It’s so much more special when the couple has all their favorite people present to share the moment and both Adam & Mlayne are blessed with having lovely people in their lives. We’d also suggested they bring yellow referee cards and whistles to add another surprise element at the end. Adam is a part-time football referee and this was the icing on the cake.

Time passed so quickly on the day which is strange because clients say the weeks before seem to last an eternity. The months of planning paid off. Everything went brilliantly and it was a joy to see the reaction of Waterloo passengers and, above all, Adam & Mlayne. She said yes – of course!
