Abby and Joel's Waterfall Proposal
How We Met
We both used to work in the restaurant industry and met while working together. Joel asked me on a date to the pool, next thing we knew we were on a road trip to the city of Vancouver. And the rest was history.
how they asked
(joel) I wanted this to be the most special day possible. We hopped in my car and took a road trip to Whistler BC. On the way, I told Abby (my fiancé) that I had a hike I really wanted to do and that we should get an awesome photo at the end of it, which was the reason I was bringing my camera along. We hiked down the canyon and up the river to Brandywine Falls, truly one of the most amazing waterfalls I had ever seen. We were the only ones around. I set up my camera on the tripod for our photo we were taking. When I told her where to go stand as she was walking there, I snuck the ring out of my camera bag and into my pocket. I put my camera on the 20 second timer and ran over beside her. Stood beside her for a few seconds as though we were taking the normal photo..
Kissed her cheek, and got down on one knee to ask her to spend the rest of her life with me. During that time I knew at some point the camera was going to go off! It absolutely worked perfectly. One of the best moments of my life.
I then convinced her to get a couple more photos while we were down at the waterfall to make a mini set out of it all! After we hiked out, we spent the night at an amazing resort and spa in Whistler that I had surprised her with.
