How We Met
Adam and I met on a blind date in high school, after his twin brother and one of my friends set us up. I remember being so nervous I wouldn’t be able to tell which brother was which. When we met at the Toledo Mud Hens Game, it was love at first sight and we were told we couldn’t take our eyes off of each other. Adam had plans to attend The University of Toledo, and I earned a full academic scholarship to Ohio State.
I think a lot of people doubted that we could make it work, but after 4 years of us driving 2.5 hours to visit, Adam found a job in Columbus while I started optometry school at OSU. It’s been almost 9 years, and we’re so happy we met while eating elephant ears at a baseball game!
How They Asked
It felt like I was waiting forever for Adam to propose, but we both wanted to wait until I was done with school so we could plan the wedding stress-free. After my last board exam, Adam asked if I wanted to go to Chicago for the weekend to celebrate. I was secretly hoping the proposal would happen there since we love to go to Chicago during Christmas time. Adam made plans for us to have dinner with some friends Saturday night, which made me think the proposal wouldn’t happen in Chicago. We all went to Navy Pier to walk around before dinner and decided to take a picture by the skyline… and I was so shocked when Adam got down on one knee! 9 years later, and so worth the wait!
