How We Met
We first met in high school. We went to the same school, knew a lot of the same people but never really hung out. It wasn’t until right after high school that we started talking and hanging out. He ended up coming to my 19th birthday dinner with a bunch of friends and one thing led to another and we ended up dating!
how they asked
It was a week before our sixth anniversary and Aaron told me that he was planning a surprise anniversary date for us. The only thing he told me was that I got to dress up and to wear comfortable shoes because we were going to be standing a while. Normally I am really good at figuring out surprises but he had me stumped! So he picked me up on Sunday around 4pm and we drove all the way across town to Lake Ming. By then I really had no clue what was going on. He parked the truck and out of a car next to us was a girl we knew who did photography. He then smiled at me and said “I thought it would be a good idea to take pictures for our anniversary.” Instantly I’m smiling because I’ve been wanting to get our pictures taken for a while. So we walk to this field area with beautiful mountains in the background and begin taking pictures.
The photographer asks to take a few of just me after about 10 minutes so she does and positions me different ways. After a few she asks me to turn the other way and as I did I see my Aaron kneeling on the ground behind me ring in hand.
He smiles this huge smile up at me and asks if I would marry him. All I could do was nod my head and bend down to kiss him.
It took everything I had to not start bawling there on the spot. He stood up, put the ring on my finger and we literally stood there for 5 minutes just hugging and kissing. It was the happiest moment of my life.
After we composed ourselves we spent the next hour finishing the photoshoot which went from “anniversary pictures” to “engagement pictures” that turned out beautiful.
So once that was done and we were back in the truck he asks me, “Are you hungry, because we are going to dinner.” Turns out he planned a whole dinner for afterwards and as we walked through the doors of the restaurant all of our family was sitting there waiting for us and cheered as we walked in! It was a beautiful, exciting, and memorable night and I can’t wait to spend my life with the man of my dreams!
