How we met
Jess and I met online through eharmony. After several weeks of talking first online and then over the phone we decided to go out on a date. I picked her up at her place and the first thing I thought was she is actually the person in her pics online. I had picked up some flowers for her and she was shocked and loved them.
We started our date by going to Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, MN. We spent an hour or so walking around the Falls pretty soon we got tired and decided to find a bench to sit and chat for awhile. I also snuck in a kiss while we were sitting on the bench. After the Falls we went to dinner at an Italian place called Louie’s in downtown St. Paul. Dinner was great and neither one of us wanted the night to end, but eventually it had to and I took her back home where I got in another kiss.
How they asked
Fast forward two years to the day for my proposal to Jess. She had no idea what was happening other than we were going out for dinner. I took her back to Minnehaha Falls and to the bench that we had our first kiss at and after sitting for a bit. I asked her if she loved me and she said yes, so I got down on one knee and asked her if she would love me forever and with the ring in my hand I asked her if she would marry me!!!
She was shocked and started crying tears of joy as she said YES! That was a relief because I had plans for the rest of the evening and if she had said no it would have been awkward. Jess was on cloud nine and couldn’t wait to tell her family, but I had to convince her to wait to call them. Reason being is that I had invited her family to have dinner with us at you guessed it Louie’s.
So we get to Louie’s and her family was there cheering for us and I think she was more shocked that they were there than she was when I asked her to marry me. Her family was super happy for her. I think her dad was the happiest now she is off his payroll. LOL That is our story it and that is why we chose Minnehaha Falls as the place to have our engagement pics taken at.
