I met Trent my freshman year and his sophomore year of college at University of Missouri. He knew he wanted to date me the very first day we met. I, on the other hand, was completely oblivious to his interest. He laid down plenty of hints, even driving me home from college one weekend because he was “going home too”. He was not planning to go home, he just wanted to be in the car with me for the 4 hour drive.
Trent thought I was out of his league. I thought he was out of mine. It did not take long for me to recognize the pureness of his character. His humbleness, patience and wisdom are so far beyond his age. No way would he want to date little ‘ol me! Surprise, he did!
Throughout college Trent and I grew in our love for Jesus and our love for each other. Those two ingredients combined make a very beautiful recipe.
Our relationship has not always been butterflies and rainbows. We have experienced plenty of hard times together too. There have been many nights of disagreements, asking each other for forgiveness and gentle suggestions on how to improve in our weakest areas. I am thankful to love someone who gives me more grace than I deserve.
In April of 2012, Trent proposed to me with a beautiful video! I am a very blessed girl!
