4th of July Marriage Proposal
How We Met: Matt and I met back in high school – he was the “bad boy” that every girl wanted to date and I was the only girl that didn’t fall for his bad boy act. I am pretty sure thats what got him so interested in me in the beginning. We both ended up at the same party and ran into each other. I thought he was so “hot” but tried to play it cool when he came to say hi even though my stomach was full of butterflies.(I was beginning to figure out why all the other girls liked him, he was a great smooth talker) I felt all the other girls eyes glaring at me when he showed such interest In me. I figured, what can I lose?! And gave him my number. As soon as he left the party he started texting me non stop. That was seven years ago and I still get those butterflies every time I see him or hear his name.
how they asked: We decided to go to California for the Fourth of July because Matt’s cousin was throwing a huge party on the beach (how do you say no to that?!). About 30 minutes before sunset, Matt asked me to go on a walk on the beach with him, by far the best walk on the beach I’ve ever been on..
As we walked back up the stairs to the party I noticed everyone was staring at us smiling (I figured everyone had a few too many drinks) but when we walked up, Matt said he forgot something, grabbed my hand and started walking me to the deck that overlooked the amazing sunset and beach. He was telling me how much he loved me and wants to spend the rest of his life with me… I was freaking out having no idea what was going on!! He dropped to his knee and asked me to marry him in front of his entire family!!
